Welcome to the Garrard County High School webpage. I want to personally thank you for allowing GCHS to be a part of your student’s educational journey. We strive for excellence and will work tirelessly to ensure EVERY student will be successful, EVERY day. The school is student centered with challenging learning opportunities to enable EVERY student to achieve proficiency and to graduate college and/or career ready within 4 years. Olivia Saylor * Kentucky State University

Congratulations!! Olivia Saylor signed to play softball for Kentucky State University.  Olivia has been a standout in softball and basketball in her high school career at Garrard.  Olivia was selected as All-District in basketball in the 2017-18 season.  Olivia plans to major in Finance.

2018 Rogers Scholar * Kennedy Bruner

Congratulations to Kennedy Bruner for being selected for Rogers Scholars 2018.  The Center for Rural Development’s flagship youth program—provides leadership and college scholarship opportunities to help rising high school juniors in Southern and Eastern Kentucky develop the skills they need to seize their potential as the region’s next generation of business and entrepreneurial leaders. During this intensive week-long program, Rogers Scholars work on building their leadership skills, participating in a series of team-building exercises; receive hands-on instructional training from professional experts in engineering, healthcare, and video production; and interact with nationally recognized business leaders and entrepreneurs.

FBLA State Conference * Ethan Baker

Congratulations to Ethan Baker on his State FBLA Victories!  Second place in Intro to Business Communications and 2nd place in Human Resource Management. 

GCHS STLP & Multimedia * KET

Students from STLP and Multimedia visited KET on Tuesday.  Cynthia Warner presented a class on video and led students on a tour of the KET facilities. This field trip was sponsored by GEAR UP.  Kentucky Educational Television is a state network of PBS member television stations serving the U.S. Commonwealth of Kentucky.

2018 Governor's Scholar Recipients

Congratulations!! Brynne Galloway and Georgia Dawahare for being selected for the 2018 Governor's Scholars Program. The Governor's Scholars Program strives to enhance Kentucky's next generation of civic and economic leaders.  The program provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience.  Students must complete an application and compete with others from across the state.
