NEW STATE-MANDATED IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
Beginning next school year, in order to attend school, all students (preschool – 12th grade) must show proof of having received two doses of the Hepatitis A vaccine. Since the two doses must be given six months apart, we encourage you to schedule your child’s first Hepatitis A vaccination as soon as possible.
Also, students aged 16 or older must provide proof of having received two doses of the Meningococcal ACWY vaccine. If the student received the first dose at age 16 or older, the second dose is not required for school admittance.
These vaccines are available from most healthcare providers. They are usually covered at no cost by most health insurance plans if administered by in-network providers. The vaccines are also administered by local health departments.
If your child has already received the required immunizations referenced above, we simply need documentation of this reflected on your child’s Certificate of Immunization.
Once your child has received the required immunizations (two doses of the Hepatitis A vaccine and two doses of the Meningococcal ACWY for the students 16 years of age or older), be sure to provide the required Certificate of Immunization.
