Junior American Citizens is the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution’s second oldest youth- oriented committee.  The first club was organized in October 1901 “to teach… children some knowledge of the underlying principles of our government of American sentiment, and all that will go toward making good citizens.”

Each year the JAC committee sponsors a contest for young people from kindergarten to high school and all levels of special education.  The 2014-15 theme was “Focus on the future.”

Paint Lick Elementary school was pleased to learn it had 7 state winners.  They were Marcus Aldridge, Aislinn Ellis, Anthony Salsbury, Karli Morris, Connor Hacker, Clint West and Hannah Whitley.  Clint West not only won 1st place in the state but also was recognized as a first place winner at the national level!

Teacher Jeremy Thompson and Principal Larry E. Sparks at Paint Lick Elementary thank Shirley Woods and the Gov. James Garrard Chapter for lending their support and help during the past year!
