GCHS Principal Selection - Stakeholder Input

Garrard County High School Stakeholders

As you may know, Mrs. Diana Hart has accepted the position of Director of Pupil Personnel (DPP), leaving a vacancy for the principal position at Garrard County High School.

The Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council, chaired by the superintendent, received the mandatory Principal Selection Training on Monday, July 9, 2018 as a part of a specially-called meeting.   Last year, there was an extensive process used to determine the selection criteria which included the opportunity for stakeholders to respond to an online survey and attend forums at the school.  With that in mind, we decided to use the same selection criteria that were used one year ago: School Climate, Expectations, Curriculum and Leadership.  However, we do want to give you the opportunity to give us suggestions if you wish.  You may do that by following this link:

As we move forward with the process, here is the tentative timeline with tentative topics:

Monday, July 16, 2018, 5:00 PM – Special Meeting to: Review any additional stakeholder input, finalize processes and questions, review applications and reference checks, select interviewees, schedule interviews

Thursday, July 19, 2018, 9:00 AM – Special Meeting to: Conduct interviews, consider merits of candidates, select a principal

We are working hard to be diligent in our search for, and selection of, the next principal of Garrard County High School.
