Superintendent Paul Mullins spoke of his love for this district and its people and how welcome he and his family have been here over the past year. He spoke of the district’s vision “Expect the Best” and how the school system has worked to further define and implement that vision. He then introduced Assistant Superintendent Corey Keith who is new to the district this school year. Mr. Keith expressed his appreciation for the hospitality of Garrard Countians and explained that he will have a daughter at each school level, elementary, middle and high school this year, which will give him a unique perspective of the school system as a whole.
Other school leaders introduced themselves and spoke briefly about their educational beliefs and goals for Garrard County students. Those leaders included the following:

Diana Hart- Assistant Principal- Garrard County High School
Michael Anderson- Counselor- Garrard County High School
Jillian Fulkerson, Counselor- Garrard County High School
Jerry Perry, Math teacher and Head Football Coach- Garrard County High School
Josh Henderson and his wife Samantha who teaches at Camp Dick Robinson Elementary. Josh is the College and Career Readiness Coordinator and Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Garrard County High School
Scott Latham- PE teacher at Lancaster Elementary School and Head Girls’ Basketball Coach for Garrard County High School
Aaron McDonald- Agriculture Teacher at GCHS
Christen Roseberry- Agriculture Teacher at GCHS
Charlie Owens- Teacher and Athletic Director at GCHS
Andrew Pickerill- Principal at Garrard Middle School
Scott Bolin- Principal at Camp Dick Robinson Elementary
Not present were Belinda Bowling- Director of Special Education and Daniel Zeitz- Assistant Principal at Garrard Middle School. Both were out of town.
Farm Bureau members discussed agriculture projects with school leaders, especially pertaining to the school farm which is located on high school property. An Agriculture Farm Planning Committee has been established to help plan the next steps for the farm operation.
Farm Bureau members also presented school leaders with a list of opportunities provided annually by Farm Bureau to showcase student talents and academic abilities. Some of these opportunities include scholarships and awards/contests. School leaders were asked to encourage students to take advantage of these opportunities.
Overall the night was a time of collaboration between the Farm Bureau Board and the school system. Board of Education Member and Farm Bureau Board Member Larry Woods commented on the tone of the meeting stating, “Our school leaders made a wonderful impact on our Farm Bureau board. School leaders in their presentations were very goal-focused, excited about being in Garrard County, and interested in our children. Diana Hart echoed those sentiments saying,
“ Thank you for a wonderful meeting. It was great to hear the passion for Garrard County Schools. I look forward to working with Farm Bureau and becoming a distinguished school district!”
