HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a relaxing extended Christmas break!! Thanks to everyone who attended and helped with our Christmas party! We will start fresh on Monday. We spent Thursday and Friday reviewing. Please take note of the Things to Remember. Here are the things we will be working on this week:
Theme: Arctic Animals/Birds
Phonics: Long o (o_e)
Reading Comprehension: Making Inferences
High Frequency Words: opened, saw, soon, every, any
Vocabulary: sparkled and floating
Grammar: using was and were
Math- Addition to 20
Writing: Sentence writing/handwriting
Spelling Words: joke, woke, nose, hose, note, vote, splash, string, every, any
We will be focusing more on vocabulary these last nine weeks. A vocabulary test will be added to the weekly Friday assessments starting Friday-Jan. 24h. This week we will be practicing on how to take the vocabulary tests. Please study the words and their definitions! I will put the words/definitions on my newsletter each week. Each week more words will be added. This will be a grade on their report cards!
Don’t forget about our snack calendar. Snack is every Friday! We have 23 students. Please remember our allergies! Birthdays are celebrated on the last Friday of every month.

- Jan. 13-Report Cards go home-SIGN & RETURN
- Jan. 16-Parent/Teacher Conferences (4-7pm)-Return yellow paper by Monday Jan. 13.
- Jan. 20-No School (MLK)
Please send in box tops and small toys for our prize box. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
**Reading Homework is sent home on Mondays. Math homework is sent home on Tuesdays. Please complete and return the following day.**
