Our school was extremely fortunate to receive this approximately $650,000 grant which will be distributed to us over the next 5 years!
The 21st CCLC ROAR Program stands for: 21st CCLC (Century Community Learning Center) ROAR (Reach Onward Academic and Recreational) Program
The goals of the ROAR Program are:
- To improve the academic achievement on both state and nationally mandated tests for students at GMS
- To develop social skills needed for classroom success for all participating students
- To improve school spirit and community pride through participation in a wide range of enriching activities, parent involvement opportunities, and supportive, on-going community partnerships.

There are 3 components for student participation in the 21st CCLC ROAR Program: After School, Before School and Summer Learning.
ROAR After School Program
The After-School Program will be in operation Monday-Thursday from 3:20-5:45 p.m. Students may either be picked up at GMS at 5:45 p.m. or may ride the Activity Bus to Paint Lick or Camp Dick Elementaries. **Please remember that a daily note is required in order to ride the Activity Bus!**

ROAR Before School Program
The ROAR Program will begin operating the Before School Program on Tuesday, September 4th.
The Before School Program will be in operation Monday-Friday from 7:15-8:00 a.m. Students will be given help with core classes during this "study hall" type time. Breakfast will also be provided to any students who wish to eat. This will be through our school cafeteria.
ROAR Summer Learning Program
The ROAR Program will begin operating the Summer Learning Program again this coming summer.
This past summer was quite a success! We will again be providing an action packed learning experience for students who are brave enough to participate! Information will be sent home in May!
