Dr. Frazier did a terrific job, as usual, involving the students in learning more about themselves and the importance of keeping healthy. Comparing a smoker’s lungs to the lungs of a non-smoker was just a small part of this interactive presentation. Students put on gloves and were able to hold and get a closer view of actual human organs including kidneys, hearts, lungs and even a brain. Students had already dissected similar organs from a sheep so it was a great opportunity to compare them. One of the most interesting structures for the students to see was a carefully dissected spinal cord that showed the delicate and intricate spinal nerves which can be so easily damaged beyond repair.
