Garrard County Schools (GCS) recently hosted a memorable District Family Math Night at Garrard Middle School, organized by the district's math teacher leaders. The event, held on December 6th, 2023, from 5:00PM to 6:30PM, brought together K-12 students and families for an evening of interactive math education.
Parents had the opportunity to participate in informative mini-sessions led by the district's math leaders. These sessions provided valuable insights into supporting their students' math education at home. Simultaneously, students enjoyed engaging math activities carefully designed to spark their enthusiasm for mathematics.
One highlight of the evening was the chance to discuss the concept of numbers at home with local bank representatives from First Southern National Bank and Whitaker Bank. Families had the opportunity to visit their tables, where goodies were generously provided to enhance the overall experience for students and parents alike.
The event also featured a raffle for take-home math games, adding an element of excitement to the night. Families eagerly gathered just before the conclusion of the event to see if they would be the lucky recipients of these educational games.
A special thanks goes out to our local representatives from First Southern National Bank and Whitaker Bank for their generous contributions. Their goodies added an extra layer of enjoyment to the District Family Math Night, creating memories for the students and families in attendance.
As the evening wrapped up, families and students were treated to a grab-and-go pizza dinner, providing a delightful conclusion to a night filled with learning and fun.
