
Mark your calendars! The City of Lancaster is sponsoring a Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 9th at 2:00PM. The egg hunt will take place at the Lancaster Parks and Rec Center-435 Richmond Street.
The egg hunt will be for children ages 2-10 years old, and they will be divided into three different age groups.


The 3rd Grade students at Camp Dick Robinson have pen pals at Garrard County High School through the JAG classes!✍️✉️
Every other week, the students exchange letters with their pals. The high school students created a video introduction to pair with their first letter to the 3rd graders! The CDR students have been so excited to read their letters, watch their personalized video and respond to the high school students! They are looking forward to a visit from their GCHS pen pals in the spring!

Important Update:
The Board recently approved the following change to next school year's (2022-23) calendar: August 8th will now be Opening Day, with students returning on August 9th, and May 22nd will now be closing day. CDR is hosting their Second 1 Mile Bobcat Bolt on Friday, May 6th! All ages are welcomed, and there will be food trucks post race!

Liliian is the first student to complete the CDR Kentucky Bluegrass Award Reading Challenge. The challenge is designed to promote quality literature and recreational reading. Students who participate in the challenge are given the opportunity to vote for their favorite to determine the winner of the award. In addition, Lillian will receive a prize and an invitation to a pizza party for those meeting the challenge. Congratulations, Lillian!


We would like to thank everyone who took advantage of our Test to Stay program during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company providing this resource is no longer offering testing services, therefore GCS will no longer be able to offer this option to our community.

GC Parents and Families: It is that time of year again to register for preschool screenings! If you have a preschool-aged child who qualifies for preschool, use this link to sign up for their screening. Mrs. Lanigan's second grade class at CDR discussed states of matter this week! The students connected last week's Dr. Seuss reading to this week's science activity by making Oobleck using cornstarch and water! After, they wrote about their findings in their science journal!





Congratulations to Annabelle Bastin for winning the AARP Grandparent of the Year Essay contest. Not only was Annabelle a school and county winner- but she also competed against NINE counties in the AARP district and won District Winner as well! Congratulations Annabelle!
