If you have a preschool-aged child who qualifies for preschool, use this link to sign up for their screening. Mrs. Lanigan's second grade class at CDR discussed states of matter this week! The students connected last week's Dr. Seuss reading to this week's science activity by making Oobleck using cornstarch and water! After, they wrote about their findings in their science journal!

Garrard County GEAR UP student, Ian Henderson, attended Sullivan University's Chef Shadow program. Ian had the opportunity to put his culinary skills to use, working with the University's Director of Culinary Arts and current culinary students!👨🍳



GCS would like to congratulate Coach Ken Hurt for being inducted to the 12th Region Hall of Fame!
Coach Hurt will be recognized tomorrow night (3/4/22) at Lincoln County High School during halftime of the first game (which begins at 6:30).
Mr. Ken Hurt coached Garrard County High School girls basketball from 1978-2003, compiling a record of 443-274. Under his leadership , GCHS Lady Lions won sixteen district championships and won the 1994 12th Region Championship; the only region basketball championship in Garrard County history.
We are very excited for Coach Ken Hurt, and are proud to call him a Golden Lion!


Congratulations to Aislinn Ellis on being selected as the student Page for the FRYSC Legislative Page Day!
Aislinn submitted a written entry on how YSC impacts the school and community and was selected from Garrard County High School to represent GC today at the FRYSC Legislative Page Day!

GCS would like to congratulate Ms. Kyrin Norris for winning the Good Citizen Award presented by the local chapter of the DAR. Kyrin's application and personal essay will be sent to the state level to compete with other Good Citizen Award winners throughout the state of Kentucky!

Ms. Isaac's classes at GCHS have been learning about employability skills, and this week they participated in mock interviews with different GC staff members!
