Our Garrard County High School Chess Club and TATU members joined forces to pack fifteen Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes bringing smiles to children in need, and kicking off the National Collection Week (11/13-11/20). It is amazing to see our students and staff making a difference!

Honoring our Veterans at Paint Lick Elementary! Mrs. Erin Schneider (PLE School Nurse) and her husband Geoffrey, both Navy veterans, shared insights on the significance of Veterans Day with our Paint Lick Elementary students, while also sharing stories of their active service. We're grateful for their service and for enriching our students' understanding!
Honoring Veterans at GCHS! Garrard Alum, First Sergeant. Chris Steffen, shared his journey in the military with our Garrard County High School student body. Students listened as he reflected on the pivotal moments that led him to serve and the impact it has had on his life. A BIG thank you to First Sergeant Steffen and to all of our Veterans for their service.
Honoring our heroes at the Garrard Middle School Veterans Day Program!🇺🇸👏 This year, our GMS Student Council teamed up with GCHS Student Council and the JROTC program to create a program to honor our veterans. Our outstanding GMS Band and Choir also provided great performances. Before the ceremony, our talented Culinary classes from both GMS and GCHS prepared a delicious breakfast for our guests. A wonderful morning of gratitude and respect for those who have served and continue to serve our nation!
Our Camp Dick Robinson 3rd Graders and our Garrard County High School JAG students have been writing each other letters for the past few months. Today, our Pen Pals got to meet one another! Our JAG students led an activity with their 3rd Grade friends, making cards for our local Veterans! Check out these smiles!

Before the breakfast, a few of our fifth graders spoke about the significance of Veterans Day, sharing their gratitude and understanding for our brave servicemen and women. After enjoying breakfast together, our Veterans participated in a special parade, and our CDR students filled the hallways, waving flags and cheering to say thank you for their service. Our GEC preschoolers had an exciting morning learning about the work of our local firefighters and EMS workers! Thanks to Lancaster City Fire and Garrard County EMS for visiting, engaging with the students, and allowing them to climb aboard the trucks! 🚒🚑

Our Garrard County High School Golden Lions Basketball team is offering a youth basketball training camp! Campers will attend one hour sessions with current GCHS Boys Basketball staff and team members. Six sessions will be offered- campers can attended all six (for a discounted rate) or as many sessions as they would like ($15/session). CBI is a vital instructional tool that provides “real life experiences” through a variety of hands-on learning opportunities that allows students with special needs to practice essential skills.

Tech Center Tuesday is here, and today we have a special Tech Center feature! October is #NationalPrincipalsMonth and today we would like to feature Mr. Troy Watts. Let's celebrate a decade of leadership! This month marks the 10th year of dedication from our Area Technology Center's Principal, Mr. Troy Watts. Thank you for your outstanding service! Mr. Watts says, "I love being the principal at the ATC because I have the privilege of working with an incredible staff who are committed to helping students succeed. Our students are dedicated and work hard to develop their skills, and it's incredibly rewarding to be a part of their four years."
October is #NationalPrincipalsMonth and GCS is spending the last few days of the month celebrating our Principals. Today, we are celebrating Mrs. Kia Lamb- Paint Lick Elementary School's Principal. Mrs. Lamb says, I love being at PLE because we have the best students, staff and families and they make our school a special place to be.
