Garrard County School staff and Central Office staff will be participating in Opening Day activities on August 8th 2022. Please keep in mind, Central Office and our schools will be closed from 10:00AM-1:00PM on August 8th.

Paint Lick Elementary would like to welcome our new Preschool Paraeducator, Ms. Chelsea Freels! Ms. Chelsea Freels is from Somerset, KY but soon to be citizen of Lancaster! Ms. Freels is currently completing her senior year at Midway University studying Psychology. Her career goals include pursuing Education in Human Development with a minor in mental health counseling. She is recently engaged to a Garrard County native, Tee Ellis. Ms. Freels says, "I am very excited to be a part of the Paint Lick community and hope to represent our school system well!"

Don't forget back to school night this Thursday, August 4th from 4:00-7:00! If you would like to save yourself some time and avoid the registration line, register online before the 4th! Remember if you need assistance with online registration you can come by the PLE main office. We can't wait to see our panthers!!

Paint Lick Elementary School would like to welcome our new 3rd Grade Math Teacher, Mrs. Stephanie Hale! Mrs. Hale went to Marshall University and graduated in May 2013 with B.A. in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. She has six years of experience teaching Kindergarten. Mrs. Hale taught for two years in Florida and four years in Colorado. She spent one year in Japan where she was a Special Education Aide in a school on a U.S. Navy base. Mrs. Hale says, "My husband is medically retiring from the military after almost 10 years of service in the U.S. Navy. We decided it was best to move back home to Kentucky to raise our one-year-old close to family. I look forward to teaching at Paint Lick Elementary!"

We hope our GC students are enjoying summer break! We are excited to see everyone in August, and we wanted to send a calendar reminder to families! Please mark your calendars with the following dates: August 8th will be Opening Day for Staff only, August 9th will be Transition Day for only Kindergarten, 6th Grade and 9th Grade students and August 10th will be our official first day (all students).

Paint Lick Elementary would like to welcome our new 4th and 5th Grade Reading Teacher, Mrs. Danielle Taulbee.! Mrs. Taulbee was born and raised in Garrard County. She is married and has two children- Jessa Drew is 4, and River is 3. Mrs. Taulbee has seven years experience working with elementary aged students, in both general and special education. She received her undergrad degree at Eastern Kentucky University, and graduate degree at the University of the Cumberlands. Mrs. Taulbee says, "Reading is my passion, and I am so excited to return home and form relationships with students in my own community. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Together, we love to fish, hunt, hike, kayak, cook, garden, and attend church. I also love painting, puzzles, and podcasts."

Paint Lick Elementary would like to welcome our new Art Teacher, Ms. Megan Bell! Ms. Bell graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Art Education and a minor in Special Education. Currently, Ms. Bell is pursuing her Master's degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders. Ms. Bell has previously taught at Science Hill Independent School and Madison Central High School. Ms. Bell says, "I have tons of fun activities planned for this year, and I can't wait to meet every one of you!"
